We spent part of this summer doing a major remodel on our house. We replaced the flooring through most of the house and gutted and re-did our falling-apart-at-the-seams kitchen. We have a small home in the country and my style is clean and simplistic, yet homey. I think in the end that’s exactly what we got. Here is a peek at our kitchen remodel:
We chose tile for it’s durability and because it’s easy to clean no matter what gets on it. Since we live out in the country we’re pretty surrounded by dirt, but clean up is pretty easy with tile.
We got the functioning cabinets we needed and the durable flooring to stand up to six boys . . . and that’s saying something.
We did the work ourselves with help from family. It’s unbelievable how much money you can save if you’re willing to do the work on your own. Not always easy, but definitely worth it.
We worked our kids, especially the oldest two, like house elves. Tiling is hard, hard work, but in the end it was very worth it. In the end, I love the work that we did and I love our kitchen remodel.
