Geography Trading Cards

You can use these printable geography trading cards as a tool to teaching kids where countries are in the world and a few facts about them.  It will give athletic or sports-crazy kids a peg on which to hang their knowledge of the world.

Geography Trading Cards

On the first type of card, choose a place in the world and do a bit of research to find out about a popular team from that country.  It can be any sport, but choose a sport that is especially popular in that part of the world.  Decorate the card with the team colors, print out a photo of the team and glue it to your card.  Look up a few stats about the team to write on the back of the card.

On the second type of card, the country (or state) is the team.  Color the card in the country’s colors from their flag, print out a picture of the country, and look up a few country stats to place on the back of the card.

You could make similar cards for dress, food, holidays, or other significant facts about a country as you go along learning about it.
